LE VENT DES FORE^TS 1999 参加作品
私は1999年6月30日から2週間、フランスで行われたLe Vent des Fore^tsでのプロジェクトに参加した。「森の風」を意味するLe Vent des Fore^tsの森は周辺の6つの村によって共有されており、村の生活にとって重要な場所である。アート・プロジェクト「Le Vent des Fore^ts」は周辺の6つの村によって運営されており、森をテーマに数多くの美術作品が森の中に展示されている。私のプロジェクトはこれら6つの村の人々へのインタビューを基に行われた。私は森についての個人的な体験を尋ねて、各々の話が書かれたサインボードを物語が起こった実際の場所に立てた。これらの個人的な話は村での、とりわけ森と人々の生活との関係を私達に語ってくれる。また、話の書かれたサインボードは人々の記憶をよみがえらせる記念碑となるだろう。

Ici il y avait une pierre en forme d'œuf : un repère connu dans la forêt. Elle disparut en 1981. Elle me manquait tant qu'en 1993 j'ai taillé un "gros caillou" et je l'ai placé au même endroit.
Here there used to be an egg-shaped stone which was known as a landmark in the forest. However, it disappeared in 1981. I missed the stone very much, so I carved a new one in 1993 and placed it exactly where the old one was.
ここには、卵の形をした一つの石があったんだ。森の中のよく知られた目印だった。その石は1981年になくなってしまった。その卵型の石が恋しくなったので、大きい石を削って、昔あったのと同じ場所においたんだ。

One day when I was on a chariot, it bumped into something here. My horse was surprised and ran away. It took several days to find it again.

When I shot a pigeon here, only the head was shot off.

J'ai supris, ici, un jeune chevreuil qui se mit à appeler sa mère. Elle apparut à quelques mètres de moi, peu troublée par ma présence. Elle le flaira. Ensuite, ils s'éloignèrent.
To my surprise, a roe fawn was here crying for his mother. The mother roe appeared a few meters from me, but she was hardly upset by my presence. She sniffed the roe fawn. Then they walked away.
私は、ここで、母鹿を呼ぼうとしていた一匹の小鹿を捕まえた。母鹿は私から数メートルのところに現れたが、私の存在にあまり動揺した様子ではなかった。母鹿は小鹿の匂いを嗅いだ。それから、彼らは連れ立っていってしまった。

Ici, j'ai raté un magnifique sanglier lors d'une battue. Un ami en a fait un dessin.
I failed to shoot a magnificent wild boar here. My friend drew a cartoon of it.

En rentrant bien gai du bal de Dompcevrin, je suis descendu de vélo, ici, pour me soulager. Une fois reparti, au niveau du gros chêne, je me suis rendu compte que je retournais au bal.
I was going home from a party in Dompcevrin by bicycle. I stopped the bicycle here for a pee. After that I cycled back to a big oak tree and realised that I took the opposite way home.
ドンスヴランのお祭りからとても元気よく帰っていたが、ここで、用を足すために自転車を降りたんだ。再び出発して、切り株のところまできたら、私はお祭りに戻ったほうがいいんだと悟った。

Quand je coupais mon bois de chauffage, j'ai entendu le chant d'un coucou. Je l'imitai et à ma grande surprise, le coucou s'approcha de moi.
When I was collecting some wood for fire, I heard a cuckoo here. I imitated the cry of a cuckoo, and the cockoo responded and came to me. I was very surprised.
ここで自分の薪を切っていたとき、カッコウの鳴き声を聞いた。私が鳴き声の真似をすると、驚いたことにそのカッコウは私に近寄ってきたんだ。

Ici, par hasard, une grosse branche se détacha et tomba sur la remorque qui était garée dessous.
Here, suddenly, a big branch was detached from a tree and fell on the tractor parked under the tree.

Je cherchais des champignons et je me suis perdu dans la forêt. J'ai mis trois ou quatre heures à retrouver mon chemin.
I went looking for mushrooms and got lost in the forest. It took me three or four hours to find my way back.
ここの森の中で、キノコを探していて迷ってしまった。道を見つけるのに3・4時間掛かってしまったよ。

La forêt a souvent éte considerée comme un abri. Pendant la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale, les résistants et villageois y ont trouvé refuge parfois, par crainte de représailles.
The forest used to be often considered as a shelter. During the Second World War, the resistance and people in the village sometimes took refuge in the forest for hear of vengence.
この森はよく避難場所として考えられた。第二次世界大戦の間、レジスタンスや村人は報復攻撃を恐れて、そこに時折避難した。
