Born in Antalya in 1946.
Lost his father when he was small, and went to school while earning some money as a shop assistant. He taught himself German, and worked at the reception desk of the first large hotel in Antalya opened in 1958. He then worked at the Tourist Bureau of Antalya. Won the first prize at the foreign language competition in Ankara, and went to study in Germany for a year. He then began writing while working as a tourist guide, and published the first book on the local history of Antalya in the 1970s. Has published 13 books so far.
